Meet our wild ambassadors.

All wildlife rehabilitation organizations conduct at least some public education as they advice people on wildlife encounters. Volunteers at Lehigh WildCare spend a good chunk of their time explaining animal natural histories and behaviors so that members of the public understand why they don’t see the mother rabbit with her babies during the day, or why those baby squirrels are squeaking up a storm.

We also spend time talking with folks who have wildlife problems and helping them to find humane solutions. We try to remind people that the wild animals likely lived here long before our houses were built, so sometimes we’re just as much of a “pest” to wildlife as they are to us. In those cases, we can only learn to live with each other.

Lehigh WildCare is lucky enough to extend our education beyond phone conversations and out into the public with our wild ambassadors. They attend public events and spread the words of conservation, respect, and tolerance for all things wild. The animals are all unreleasable back into the wild due to their injuries.

Our fee-based educational programs can be modified to meet badge, education, or other requirements for groups of all ages.
